Moonstar - Pork and Chive Dumpling Ramen
Moonstar Restaurant, located in Daly City, is an Asian buffet filled with dim sum, limited sushi, seafood, meat, rice, and noodle dishes. It has a wide variety with a fun atmosphere and we were recently here to host my daughter's Red Egg and Ginger party. For those of you that don't know, a Red Egg and Ginger party is a Chinese tradition that occurs after a child is born and the parents want their families to meet the baby.
They also have a non, and thick egg odle/soup bar where they will make it to order. The different noodles they have include egg noodle, wonton (shrimp and pork) udon and ramen. The toppings they have available include pork and chive (which I had), fish cakes, fish balls, and seaweed. There are green onions for garnishing as well. There were other options in both noodles and toppings but I don't remember them all.
It was just an okay bowl. The broth was fairly flat and the noodles were semi-springy. The pork and chive dumplings were heavy on the chive, which is fair since it is in the name after all. But it was a nice inclusion and different than the other options around the buffet. I would also probably do the wonton next time around.
