Kurume Hotomeki Ramen - Umai Crate
Umai Crate is a monthly subscription service that sends ramen curated from Japan. That’s where this pack came from.

Kurume-style ramen is recognized by its intense pork flavor. Rumor has it that a cook in the city of Kurume over-boiled his broth by accident and the result was a flavor bomb of yummy goodness. To this day, some restaurants re-use their old broth to give the flavors more time to steep to recreate this intensity. It is no surprise then that this ramen was a very flavorful bowl.
The pork notes in this ramen were strong. The smell of the broth was fairly intense as well. The package came with a seasoning packet and an oil packet. Full disclosure: I ate this for breakfast because, for the toppings, I added a soft-boiled egg, a chopped up piece of bacon, sliced green onions, and a piece of nori (dried seaweed). And some togarashi pepper was sprinkled on top to give it a slight heat. I mean, most of that is breakfast-like, right? Anyways, this was a filling bowl of porky goodness.
