Pho from Chao Praya
I am feeling under the weather this week with a cold and I can't really taste anything. So I decided on the pho bowl from Chao Praya in Novato. Yes, it is a Thai place, but their pho is decent enough. Not spectacular, but as I mentioned, I can't really taste anyway and I thought some good broth and noodles would help get rid of this bug that seems to have infected me.
The beef balls are nice and meaty and the bits of steak, while not tender, usually taste okay. The only thing I could really detect was the packet of sriracha I added. My mouth definitely felt the comforting tingle of the hotness as I drank the broth. Also, they give a pretty big portion. I got this to go and only one of my biggest bowls can handle the amount of noodles and broth they give. They include bean sprouts, green onions, a lime, and packets of sriracha and hoisin sauce. They also give some cilantro, but I don't really like it that much, so I left it out.
