Matsuyama - Chashu Ramen

I wouldn't call this a traditional ramen by any means.  The broth doesn't seem like it was simmered very long and the chashu (pork) seemed grilled and not marinated very heavily.  That said,  I was pleasantly surprised by this.  It tasted good and it was chock full of vegetables (carrots and zucchini).  There were even a couple of slices of fish cake includes and everything was topped off with green onions.  The noodles were fairly springy and chewy and tasted fine.  The chashu also tasted good.  The entire bowl costs $10.50 and it comes with a side salad.  Very decent price for a hot bowl of soup noodles.  The restaurant has shichimi togarashi, which is a bottle of hot spice that you can sprinkle over to give the dish some heat.

The bowl was defeated by me.
