Ramen Hero - Creamy Chicken Paitan
There are many food delivery services like Blue Apron and HelloFresh (which I have used for a couple of years) that deliver food to your house to cook. Last month, I went in on a Kickstarter to have ramen delivered and yesterday the first one finally came!
It was a creamy chicken paitan (chicken broth) and it came with its own menma (bamboo shoots) and seaweed for the toppings and the noodles and broth. There was also a chicken wing included for the meat. My thoughts:
I liked it. It had a nice chicken broth flavor and the noodles were good. Including the menma and seaweed was a really nice touch as well. On the direction card, they also included other suggested toppings that you have to provide. In this case, I added the corn and a soft-boiled egg. It also suggested green onions for toppings but I didnt have any laying around. The chicken wing was a bit weird. It tasted fine but didnt add too much meat to the dish. I may add some chicken next time.
Fairly easy to prepare. The chicken wing is in a bag with the broth so you basically boil the entire bag for 10 minutes. The noodles get boiled for 90 seconds. And then you throw everything in a bowl, put your toppings on, and slurp away.

What it's supposed to look like.
The instructions and a handy piece of ramen trivia.
Mine looks about the same.
