Chilled Ramen - Umai Crate

This ramen from Kenko Foods is intended to be served cold with no broth.  Also, like other Kenko Foods offerings, the ramen noodles are not fried - they are actually dried using hot air, making them healthier.  This is a "hiyashi chuka" style, which is literally translated as "chilled Chinese (food)", although the dish itself is Japanese.  While there isn't any broth, there is sauce, which was a mix of vinegar and soy sauce and sesame, which was very pleasing with the mix of sweet and sour notes.

This was made by cooking the noodles first and then draining them after a few minutes of cooking time.  The flavor packet and sauce packet are then added to the noodles and stirred, coating each noodle with the yummy sauce.  I added some sliced cucumbers, corn, sliced tomatoes, a boiled egg, and some leftover pork belly.  After it was done, somebody commented that it looked like a salad over noodles.  I guess it kind of does.

Ramen obtained from Umai Crate.
